Curriculum

Didactic

The majority of the didactic (educational) work for the CNT Program will be completed within the first 12 months of the program. You’ll take part of this course work at the Neurophysiology laboratory at Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (BPF), Mirpur, Comfort and Central Hospital laboratories and Biomedical Physics and Technology dept. of Dhaka University.  Clinical rotations are scheduled in each of the laboratories.

EEG, NCV and EMG training at the BPF laboratory and Comfort laboratory this would include tutorial and hands on training.

The Clinical Neurophysiologists will do the practical exercise at the laboratories during this period.

Clinical training for the CFT

During the 12 months of the program, you will gain hands-on clinical experience in Clinical Neurophysiology and attend the Epilepsy clinics at Dr. MR Khan Shishu Hospital and ICH (optional) OR you may attached with any of the BCNEPS teachers OR you be attached with the Neurologist at your institute. Your training hours will be recorded and signed by your tutor on the logbook.

Rotations

Clinical rotation:  EEG laboratory and Epilepsy clinics at the Neurology Development and Rehabilitation unit of Dr. MR Khan Shishu Hospital and ICH, and EEG laboratory, Dhaka Shishu Hospital CDC and Neurology, and Disability department and EEG laboratory, ICMH

Technical rotations: EEG laboratories and Biomedical Physics and technology department, University of Dhaka

Months 1-12: Courses

Grading or Evaluation

Following Mayo School of Health Sciences:  student evaluative tools that include:

  • Written examination
  • Demonstration of skills
  • Self-assessment exercises
  • Faculty reviews

Our system of evaluation provides students and faculty with a comprehensive look at individual performance, allowing students who are experiencing academic difficulty to be directed to appropriate support resources, including tutoring programs and counseling opportunities.

Curriculum Enhancements

BCNEPS is committed to developing and maintaining the very best C. Neurophysiology training program. Changes may be made to the curriculum and other aspects of this program as necessary to assure the highest-quality training.

Credit distribution of one year course

1 hour every tutorial class
Tutorial 1 class = 1 credit
